Methimez 5 Tablet 30's belongs to the class of ‘anti-thyroid agents,’ primarily used to treat an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) and Graves disease. Methimez 5 Tablet 30's is also used before thyroid surgery and radioactive iodine treatment. Hyperthyroidism is a condition associated with too much production of a hormone called thyroxine by the thyroid gland. The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped endocrine gland located in the base of your neck. Graves disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes hyperthyroidism.

Methimez 5 Tablet 30's contains ‘Methimazole’ that belongs to the class of ‘Anti-thyroid agents’. It is considered as a first-line medicine for treating hyperthyroidism and Graves disease. Methimez 5 Tablet 30's works by reducing the excessive production of thyroid hormones from the thyroid gland, thereby preventing hyperthyroidism symptoms.

Methimez 5 Tablet 30's is available in the form of oral tablets. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose that suits your medical condition. Common side effects of Methimez 5 Tablet 30's include headache, stomach upset, nausea, vomiting and mild skin rash or itching. These side effects may not occur in every patient using this medication and differ individually. If the side effects persist longer or worsen, please seek doctor’s advice.

Let your doctor know if you are sensitive to Methimez 5 Tablet 30's or any other medications. Before using Methimez 5 Tablet 30's, let your doctor know if you have liver, kidney or heart diseases, blood disorders and any other medical history. LONITAB 5MG contains minoxidil which belongs to a group of medicine called vasodilators. Vasodilators are medications that helps open (dilate) blood vessels and affect the muscles in the walls of your arteries and veins thus preventing the muscles from tightening and the walls from narrowing. This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It relaxes the muscles of your blood vessels and improves the blood flow around your body resulting in low blood pressure.

Take this medicine and your other blood pressure medications regularly and at the same times each day. Do not stop taking this medication without speaking to your doctor. It may take several days to a couple of weeks to get the full benefit of this medicine. Do not drive or operate any machine while taking this medicine since it may cause dizziness. If your condition, that your blood pressure remain high or increased inform your doctor. The dose for children 12 years and under will be decided by the doctor based on their weight.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take LONITAB 5MG according to the dose and frequency as instructed by your doctor. This medicine must be taken with or after food. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
